Aims (purpose)

The course is divided into 4 sections to be completed during the day which will:

  • provide basic fire awareness
  • examine Customer Care
  • examine Disability Awareness
  • discuss and clarify the course allowing time for questions

Objectives (intended outcomes)

On completion of the course drivers should have:

  • a full understanding of Disabilities
  • an improved understanding of Customer Care
  • an understanding of basic Fire Awareness

Preparatory Work

Individuals should familiarize themselves with the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 regulations before attending the course.

 

Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is for PCV drivers who drive professionally throughout the UK.   It has been developed as a requirement of the EU directive 2003/59 which is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of professional PCV drivers throughout their working life.   35 hours of training must be attended by ALL professional drivers every 5 years.   If you held your licence prior to 10 September 2010 then you have acquired rights until 9 September 2013.   By this date you must have completed 35 hours of training in order to carry on driving professionally.
